We want you to know
A dog can be a dog and be part of your life, at the same time.
Those are not opposite things.
That's the life a lot of dog training is selling you.
That's the life I keep describing. It exists.
01 The bit nobody tells you
Not because the trainers are bad. Because of what the industry never teaches.
Instructing the dog: what to do, what not to do. Sit. Leave. Heel. Behaviour in, behaviour out.
What's causing the issue. So the cause stays, the behaviours keep coming, and the training never gets to end.
That's why people are left training and managing their dog, instead of just living with and enjoying them.
What you see
The causes
Training only ever touches the tip. Stop one behaviour and the cause underneath simply sends up another.
Any dog trainer can easily stop a behaviour with pretty and fun training or ugly, forceful training.
But how do you solve it?
And that's exactly where MK9Plus.com comes in
02 The philosophy
We sell
boring dogs.
I know that doesn't sound very exciting. But it's what you actually want.
A dog that's fulfilled enough, and at ease enough, that they're not constantly living at the edge of a problem.
That's the life you should aim for.
Not training, so that you can manage your dog better.
03 How it's done
Everything in the curriculum has to deliver all three. No exceptions.
STEP 01
Well trained and well behaved.
STEP 02
No more frustration, arousal or stress underneath. The iceberg melted, not managed.
STEP 03
Issues don't come back and new ones don't pop up, because you have helped the dog.
If something doesn't tick all 3 of these boxes, it's not part of the curriculum. We don't do it.
04 The curriculum
If professional dog trainers trust me and this platform to elevate their skills... imagine what it can do for you and your dog.
The day-to-day toolbox every dog parent needs. Sleep, arousal, structure. Without this stuff, nothing you train sticks.
Your step-by-step plan, laid out for you
Full recall and loose lead courses, plus the Distraction System. Impulse control, setting boundaries, place and much more.
An arsenal of indoor and outdoor activities, tailored to your breed. Enriching your dog becomes as easy as a microwave meal.
Read play, social interactions, other dogs approaching, and body language. See issues coming instead of finding out the hard way.
90% of your dog's serotonin comes from their diet. What ingredients and protein levels to look for. No brand pushing.
Reactivity, separation anxiety, sound sensitivity, resource guarding. How to solve them, and how to prevent them.
8 weeks to 2 years: developing brains that need catering to, not correcting. What's normal and what to prioritise.
1-to-1 email support with Max, weekly livestreams, Zoom calls and the community. Uncertainty, gone for good.
Don't de-dog your dog
Come and become the human your dog dreams of having.
05 Who's behind this
Weirdly, it's because of my mum.
Max · Founder, MK9Plus
My mum raised me on advice most parents would never give: question everything.
Obsessed with techniques, food, toys. Finding ways to motivate dogs that weren't interested. And don't get me wrong: training works.
I wasn't working with dog trainers. I was working with dog owners. People who don't want to spend hours every week training just to keep life on track. I didn't want that life either.
So I asked: why should owning a dog feel like a constant project?
If you only train behaviours, you're fighting symptoms. If you understand why the behaviours exist, you change the dog that's creating them.
And started learning what behaviourists understand.
"Max came round and we made great progress."
"My whole perspective on dogs has changed. My life with my dog has changed."

06 Fair question
You'll spend over £100 before a dog trainer even steps through your front door.
Your invoice
The dog training industry has no regulation. None. Anybody, and their mate, can rescue one dog, sort it out, and start charging people the next day.
Don't take my word for it
People here don't get little wins. They're life changers.

Fair questions
So what actually is MK9Plus?
No pressure. Just come and look around.
Every single problem I found with in-person dog training, the cost, the trust, the no-finish-line, the advice that vanishes when the door shuts, I've deliberately built this place to counter.
You keep everything. You can rewatch everything. You can verify everything. And you'll understand your own dog, which is the one thing the old system could never afford to give you.
Don't de-dog your dog.

2019. I'm on holiday, volunteering at a rescue centre, and I meet Enzo. Found on the streets. Over a year in the rescue. And because I've got no impulse control, two months later he landed at Heathrow Airport.
He was three years old and he'd never had an owner. Hyperactive. Obsessive. Unruly. The least domesticated dog I'd ever met. Every squirrel, every smell, every hole drove him nuts. Eyes like flying saucers.
And here's the thing: I was a dog trainer. And training was at the bottom of my list. Because dogs like that are like it for a reason, and training doesn't touch the reason.
What fixed him were the secrets I learned when I crossed into the behaviourist side of dog training. The outlet his breed was built for. The needs nobody talks about. The moment he got them, the frustration started to go. Week by week: more predictable, more restful, more trainable. And then all the recall training finally worked.
Dogs run up to him now, and he couldn't care less. He recalls off deer. Same dog. And he was three when I got him. So no: your dog is not too old, and they're not broken.
Those behaviourist secrets, and the life they build, are exactly what MK9Plus.com is designed around. And you don't need me in your house to learn any of it. You'll learn it quicker, and far cheaper, online. That's the whole point of this place.
